Located in Houston, Texas, Yellow Rose Distilling is an award-winning distillery producing handmade whiskeys. Troy Smith and Ryan Baird founded the distillery in 2010, and with the help of Randy Whitaker, it launched to the Texas market in 2012 becoming Houston’s first legal whiskey distillery. Today, Yellow Rose produces three signature whiskeys: Yellow Rose Blended Whiskey, Yellow Rose Outlaw Bourbon and Yellow Rose Rye Whiskey.
Yellow rose has been awarded the Best In Class award for their Yellow Rose Outlaw Bourbon at the American Distilling Institute, as well as Double Gold for their Yellow Rose Straight Rye Whiskey at the San Francisco Artisan Spirits.
Try this Hill Country Peach Smash recipe from Yellow Rose’s mixologist, Houston Farris. :
2 oz of Yellow Rose Blended Whiskey
½ oz Texas wildflower honey syrup (equal parts honey and water)
½ peach, peeled, pitted and diced
Leaves from 1 mint sprig
Muddle peach in mixing glass then add ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into iced rocks glass and garnish with two mint sprigs.
