TASTINGS

FRIDAY WINE 4:00-6:00

ALBERT BICHOT BOURGOGNE: There are not very many white burgundies for under twenty bucks, so here is your chance to try a Chardonnay done in the French style.

HB POUILLY-FUME: We are staying in France for some Sauvignon Blanc. It is good to have these low ABV wines, because you can have a couple of glasses and still perform surgery if you needed.

GIRARDIN VOLNAY: Okay, we remain in France for some red burgundy! French Pinot Noir is a whole different animal than domestic Pinot. While it can’t be put into a neat box, they usually give off a bigger nose but with a lighter body.

SHEA WINE CELLARS PINOT NOIR: Now we move to Oregon, who have been inspired by Burgundy and try to mesh the old world and new world together.

SATURDAY SPIRITS VARIETY TASTING 3:00-5:00

CIROC MANGO, CAPTAIN MORGAN WHITE, CROWN APPLE, AND BAILEYS ALMANDE

KEITH’S CABINET: WHAT KEITH IS DRINKING NOW

LEOPOLD GIN: Gin and Tonics and Martini’s I am really enjoying this gin, from this awesome distillery.

DELORD 91: Yes I had some more, yes it was wonderful! Even just typing these words makes me want to have a glass. There are many brandy makers out there but De Lord ranks among the very best from the top to the bottom.

DOG FISH HEAD PALO SANTO: It has been many years since I had this beer, and it is even better than I remembered it. Big, bold, and beautiful. Makes for a nice night cap with my brandy.

AVERY RAJA: I have always been a fan of this brewery but this double ipa in a can really hit the spot!

ZD CABERNET: One of the best wineries on the planet and one of the best cabernets in the store!

RECIPE OF THE WEEK

GIMLET

2 oz Gin (Leopold, St. George Botanivore, Flight 69, Hana)

.75 oz lime juice (nellys)

.75 oz simple syrup or agave nectar

Shake in ice filled shaker and then strain into old fashioned glass.

Garnish with lime or cucumber.
