TASTINGS
FRIDAY 4:00-6:00 WINE TASTING
POPPY CHARDONNAY: One of the best buys in Chardonnay. Santa Lucia is a great area for this grape and this wine is a real crowd pleaser. Perfect for parties or Tuesday evenings.
VAN DUZER: This Oregon Pinot Noir is also a crowd pleaser. Don’t forget that Pinot Noir tends to pair very well with Turkey if for some reason you are eating Turkey next week 🙂
ELYSE C’EST SI BON: California does Rhone blends very well, and this is a perfect example of this. The trio of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre have been working together for years! This blend allows the winemaker to make adjustments based on the weather, changing the percentages to get it just right.
CROSSBARN CABERNET: Paul Hobbs is a name that you can trust. This big and fun Cabernet checks all of the right boxes and should be a welcome sight at any dinner table!
FRIDAY 12:30-3:30 BELLE MEADE BOURBON
This is a not famous, just delicious sour mash bourbon. We will be pouring there regular and their fantastic Single Barrel. If you have not tried either of these, I highly recommend them both.
SATURDAY TEELING AND KERRY GOLD ROUND 3:00-5:00
I know a lot of folks missed our first Teeling tasting, here is another chance to taste these three outstanding Irish Whiskies. Each one is unique and each one is very well made.
Kerry Gold doesn’t just make butter and cheese! They also make an amazing Bailey’s substitute!
KEITH’S CABINET: What Keith is drinking this week.
EL DORADO 5YR!: I just couldn’t decide which one to get so I decided to start with the everyday bottle and I am really enjoying it. Even in a mix drink, the quality of this rum shines through.
INNIS AND GUNN BOURBON CASK: One of my favorite breweries has a new and fantastic beer. Go Scotland, get on with your bad self!
LEOPOLD BROTHERS APPLE WHISKEY: There are so many flavored whiskeys out there and most of them are sweet crap. These guys use real apples and it shows. This lovely bottle starts with a very strong and sweet apple taste, but then transitions nicely into a dry whiskey finish.
AMRUT FUSION: I am just loving every bit of this fantastic bottle. The colder it gets outside the better this tastes.
MORTLACH RARE OLD: This bottle is nearly dead, but it was a great ride! Still my scotch of the year.
EL DORADO IS FINALLY HERE!!!! It took me forever, and a lot of effort, but it was all worth it. I am proud to now stock the 3-25 year of this amazing rum. What makes this rum so special is it has this lovely earthiness to it that no other rum has. Now my rum shelf is sexy! People would come in to the store and say “How do you not have El Dorado? With all of these great rums, how could you miss the best one? What is wrong with you? Did the people at El Dorado hurt you as a child?” These comments were painful to me, because I was trying so very hard to make it happen but forces were aligned against me. Well I defeated those forces and now we all get to enjoy these fantastic rums.
LEOPOLD BROTHERS GIN: This gin really impressed me. I can’t wait to buy a bottle and make a martini with it!
LEOPOLD BROTHERS FERNET AMARO: Looking for a new Amaro? Well I thought this one was outstanding. It has a minty finish that gives it a quite refreshing element.
