Whiskey Lottery Booze News From Southern Spirits!
IMPORTANT VAN WINKLE ETC LOTTERY ANNOUNCEMENT
WE WILL BE ACCEPTING REGISTRATION THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THIS WEEK. SATURDAY WILL BE YOUR LAST DAY TO ENTER.
I apologize to anyone that had to scramble to get here yesterday. It was always my intention to make yesterday the cutoff but I failed to inform anyone on my staff of this decision, so lots of people were getting misinformation. So please come by and sign up if you have not already done so, and feel free to yell at me for any additional stress I have caused you.
FRIDAY WINE 4:00-6:00
BERGEVIN LANE WINERY: This small production Washington winery comes to Southern Spirits with a fun array of wines!
LOVESTRUCK VIOGNIER: Viognier is continuing its comeback from near death! This wonderful grape was almost lost to us, but thanks to the efforts of some serious winemakers it can now be found at any good wines shop. Any wine shop without any are highly suspect!
LINEN: A fun and affordable red blend from Washington. Washington excels at making Merlot and Syrah the two grapes in this blend.
MOONSPELL CABERNET: You know what else Washington does a good job making? Cabernet! I am a big fan of Washington wines in general.
SHE-DEVIL SYRAH: Remember how I just said that Washington makes good Syrah? Here is your chance to find out!
SATURDAY 3:30-6:30 CROWN FLAVORS AND BULLEIT RYE
CROWN APPLE, CROWN VANILLA, AND BULLEIT RYE! I remain perpetually shocked at how few people have tried Rye. Please correct this oversight immediately!
KEITH’S CABINET: What Keith is drinking now
HIGH WEST SINGLE BARREL RYE!: I wasn’t going to let you guys have all of the fun! If you really feel like being decadent, use this for your next Manhattan!
EL DORADO RUM: Continuing my exploration of the low and high end of this amazing rum. This is such a rewarding experience!
FORTY CREEK: It was time for some awesome bargain whiskey and this stuff never fails to deliver!
GREENFLASH WIPA: This just really hit the spot last night, just like it has every single time I have had it!
GREAT DIVIDE TITAN: This beer just continues to impress me on how well it stacks up to other imperial ipas!
NEW ARRIVALS
EL TESORO PARADISO!!! 2016 has been the year of Keith’s booze dreams come true! This gorgeous tequila was aged in Cognac barrels and has to be tasted to be believed. This will be most desired bottle in the store for as long as it is here, which is probably not long!
SIGNATORY GLENROTHES 2000: So excited about the latest vintage from one of the best distilleries and THE best independent bottles.
SIGNATORY BEN NEVIS 25: 25 year old Scotch is hard to come by these days. Vintage, 25 year old, single barrel Scotch is much harder. Looking for a high end Scotch to surprise your hard to impress Scotch lover? Look no further!
SIGNATORY LINKWOOD 21!!!: I am a huge fan of this distillery and I make it a point to buy every Linkwood I can get my hands on!
SIGNATORY GLENLIVET 2006: Many of you are aware that I am not a fan of Glenlivet, and the reason is that they make Scotch that is very light and designed to be as friendly and safe as possible, however, when Signatory does it, it is a full and flavorful!
RECIPE OF THE WEEK: NUTS AND BERRIES
I made this three years ago just for fun and ended up really liking it.
.5 oz of Hazelnut (Frangelico, Francesca)
.5 oz of Raspberry liqueur (st. George, Chambord)
2 oz of cream (buffalo trace cream, gran duque crema d’alba, ryans)
Mix together and serve on the rocks. Garnish with raspberry
