The Best Liquor in the Carolinas- News From Southern Spirits!
When you want your liquor news from the best in North OR South Carolina, you come to hear the wise word of the bearded Jedi known to some as Keith Haze.
Hey booze fans, I hope you had a great 4th!! It was insane here, but we love that. We really enjoy helping plan your parties, events, or private evenings. It is fun for us, and we take it very seriously. Turning someone on to a new thing or a fun drink is my favorite part of the job. We are out there searching for the next best thing all the time! I read the blogs, the magazines, and then I have you guys! You guys give such great recommendations. Some of the best things in the store have come from you guys turning me on to something. This is why your feedback is both very welcome and critical. The more we learn the better we can continue to shape the store to your liking.
FRIDAY 3:30-6:30 JACK AND FRIENDS
This is a Jack Daniels store. We have a statue of the man, and he has his own corner. I feel that while others have tried to expand to a larger number of flavors rather hastily, Jack tends to take their time and typically to do a much better job. I think Jack Fire and Jack Honey have proven that, but come and judge for yourself!
NEW ARRIVALS:
LONGROW PEATED: Yes another peated Scotch during the summertime. I have no control over these issues. But peat lovers rejoice because this is the tasty peaty from Springbank, the distillery that never seems to run out of wonderful whisky!
HIBIKI HARMONY: The latest release from the folks at Suntory. Based on the title and location my guess is light and smooth. One thing I am certain of, is that Suntory does not put out bad products. In Japan I enjoyed their, coffee, lemonade, and sports drink.
JACK DANIELS VARIETY PACK: Just in time for our tasting comes this fun Jack sampler. Perfect for flights, parties, gifts, strangers, friends, loved ones, and lonely Aunts.
DAMOISEAU RHUM: There has been a surge in demand and popularity of Agricole rums. They are made from 100% sugar cane and are much drier with the absence of the molasses or grain in many other rums. These two are from Guadalupe. (another customer request). I have a an unaged one and a VSOP.
KEITH’S CABINET:
What Keith is drinking now-
High West American Prairie Reserve: I killed my bottle last night. This is your two minute warning. Only 60 bottles remain. The supply went faster than anticipated.
Flight 69 Gin: So clean and easy. Works very well in a Gin and Tonic, makes a fantastic Gimlet.
Shady Fruit: I have been doing all kinds of combos with both the Orange and the grapefruit.
Mt. Gay Black Barrel: We just got in mini’s of this for a dollar and I have been enjoying it. I will stick with my Brugal Anejo, but it has been a nice change of pace.
PORTONERO
2 OZ OF PISCO (Porton or Barsol)
1 oz of lime juice
2 dashes of bitters (Jack Rudy or Angostura)
5 oz of Ginger Ale or Ginger Beer
Garnish with Lime
While the Pisco Sour is more popular I absolutely love this drink and was addicted to them last summer. I see a return coming to my cabinet in the very near future.
