Keith Haze is talking weather, weekends and wonderful whisky in our BOOZELETTER! “Hey booze fans we have made it to September. We have all of your Labor Day supplies here! Yes, we will be open on Labor day. Football season is upon us, and sources tell me that we could see temperatures dip under 80!

I am super excited about this Friday’s tasting. Having an excellent tasting set up puts everyone around here in a good mood, even me, Mr. Grumpy aka MC Grumpenstein. It allows me to forget for a little while that South Carolina is ignored by the big distributors and that the people that are making the decisions in this state do not care about finding and supporting quality product. Thanks to you guys though we have shown them time and time again that when given the chance to purchase some great over something famous, you have chosen great! We will remain the happy anomaly.”

TASTINGS:

FRIDAY 3:30pm-6:30pm END OF SUMMER TASTING WITH MIAN!!

DON FULANO BLANCO: This is a silver tequila to be reckoned with! So lively, so vibrant! Also comes in one of the most beautiful bottles, if you are into that sort of thing. I mean yeah I notice when a bottle looks shabby or great, does not mean I am going to quit the booze business and start interior decorating, I just feel like people should put a little bit of effort into the bottle is all I am saying.

SMOOTH AMBLER GIN: Yes they make awesome whiskey, but guess what? They make wonderful gin as well!

GIFFARD PAMPLEMOUSSE: I love everything that Giffard makes but this grapefruit brandy is simply one of the best things ever! Watch how it will elevate the gin and the vodka, and any other thing you put it into!

ARVERO LIMONCELLO: There are kinds of neon yellow Limoncello impostors out there, full of chemicals that make them glow in the dark! This is the real deal and makes a perfect after dinner drink, or afternoon, or any old time! I am a big fan and I know you are going to love it too.

WINE TASTING FRIDAY 4pm-6pm

Nounat: A white Spanish blend of Chardonnay and a Spanish grape called Presnal Blanc.

St. Cosme Cote Du Rhone: One of France’s most famous blends and for a good reason. There are many Cote Du Rhone’s and this is one of the better ones.

Evodia Garnacha: Big fruity and affordable. Spain does such a great job of making affordable wines.

Montelliana Prosecco: A sweet and fruity sparkler from Italy. Perfect for brunches and picnics.

BEER TASTING FRIDAY 4pm-6pm SWEETWATER

The beer department is going to BLOW YOUR MIND this weekend!

SweetWater Brewing Company will be here from 4-6 tasting several great beers!

Kick off your THREE DAY WEEKEND with a taste, a sixer, a pint or a growler fill! Sweetwater will have Hop Hash Double IPA, Hash Brown India Brown Ale, Pit & Pendulum (that’s right, the only keg in this area) and Sweet Georgia Brown (another beer that DOES NOT come to this market and will only last for a short period of time in 6 pk bottles AND is ONLY at SS)!

SATURDAY TASTINGS

3:45pm-6:45pm JIM BEAM KITCHEN SINK

Pinnacle Raspberry, Jim Beam Fire, Jim Beam Apple, and Hornitos Spiced Honey. I am not sure if you are aware but Jim Beam is a big company and has money for tastings. So they can do them anytime they like. It is much harder to get smaller companies, or famous companies that have not put out a new product in years.

SATURDAY SCHOFFERHOFER!!! 1:00pm- 4:00pm SUMMER IS NOT OVER TILL WE SAY IT IS OVER!

Try the most fun beer in the world! This beer makes me smile and feel refreshed. It can be mixed with Spirits, and who knows what else it can do! The beer will be 25% off for the SATURDAY tasting!!

RON MEDELLIN 8YR: This rum is making some excellent cocktails. I am definitely happy to have at the store and in my bar.

FINLANDIA LIME: The sale is still on but supplies are running low. I have greatly enjoy this product and will be snapping up two more bottles before they go bye bye.

LAGUNITAS CENSORED: For the most part I find Ambers to be boring. Not Amber Stuart who I was madly in love with throughout High School but the beer kind tend to be quite lame. This one has enough of a hoppy kick on the finish to keep it interesting.

VIZCAYA: “Once you try it you can’t deny it” a food truck vendor once chanted at me. This rum stops just short of having magical powers, or maybe it has those too! Either way if you have not grabbed one now, do not delay, act fast, supplies are limited, a world without this rum is a much sadder one, and I should know I spent 99.99999999999999999999999 of my life without it. Oh those wasted years!

BERTINA ELDERFLOWER: Bertina rules while St. germain drools! Last night I wanted to spruce up my Finlandia Lime cocktail and walla I added some Bertina. She is the avocado of booze. You can add her to almost anything and get instant improvement!

ALIPUS SAN LUIS MEZCAL: Rated the best in the series, I am pretty excited about this and will have to pick up a bottle myself. I like that you guys are pushing me to go and get new Mezcals!

6 oz Cran Lemon Sparkler (got this at publics)
Vodka Lime Tonic

2 oz of Finlandia Lime

4 oz of Tonic (Q or Fever Tree)

OR

2 oz of Finlandia Lime

4 oz of Fever Tree Elderflower tonic
