Best Liquor Store in Charlotte? It’s Right in Fort Mill!
Keith is the captain of the ship that is the best liquor store in Charlotte, North Carolina any beyond!! We may be located in Fort Mill, South Carolina, but people come from all over the Carolinas to experience our LOW PRICES and outstanding selection!! On Thursdays, Keith gives us his wisdom in the boozeletter!
Keith says, “Hey there booze fans, stop planning a trip to Alaska, this weather has to stop sometime! Will we all be wearing shorts in December? Have you found yourself staring into your freezer wondering why you opened the door and trying to figure out how you might fit inside of there? The plus side to all of this is…………nope I have nothing. However, thank goodness for refreshments. I leave here on Saturday night, get to wherever I am going and put that first already chilled beer into the freezer for ten minutes, try to distract myself and then open it, and it is like Hail Zeus! this must be the best thing on earth. That clean cold beer just washing down your throat putting out those fires, helping your brain settle down and your body relax. It is a signal that the heavy lifting is over and now the merriment can begin, and while an awesome Rose’ or my beloved Gin and Tonic will also put you at ease, they cannot match the visceral purity of a clean, crisp, properly chilled beer.”
TASTINGS
FRIDAY 8/7 FABRIZIA 4:30pm-6:30pm
Our lovely Mian, will be back pouring these tasty Italian liqueurs. Limoncello, Orangecello, and their brand new “Italian Margarita” Which is the best pre-made margarita I have ever tried.
FRIDAY 8/7 WINE TASTING 4pm-6pm
Left Coast Pinot Gris: No better time to drink Pinot Gris than in the summer!
Morgan Chardonnay: Morgan is one of the best wineries in California. Still a mom and pop winery that produces winners year after year! When you see Morgan on a label, you know that it will be quality. This is such a well balanced wine, with nice ripe fruit that does not overstay its welcome.
Morgan Twelve Clones Pinot Noir: This Pinot really shows off what California can do with the grape. While some Pinot’s cling to their oak masking just a hint of fruit, this baby really pops. It smells great, and tastes even better. A great wine for beginners or advanced drinkers.
B.R. Cohn Silver Label Cabernet: This wine demonstrates that California can make a dry and affordable red. Tired of all the fruit bombs? Try this underrated little winner.
SATURDAY 8/8 12pm-3:00pm PALMETTO SC WHISKEY + Mystery Items!
We wanted to give the Saturday folks a chance to try the Palmetto whiskey. You guys all seem to be enjoying it, including a fair amount of women. (I love the fact that women are discovering how awesome Whiskey is and how ridiculous it is that anyone thinks that this is a man’s drink etc… Drink whatever you enjoy! It is a wonderful time to be alive.) We have found that it pairs very well with the Fentimans cherry coke! This is best cherry coke in the world and we sell it!
KEITH’S CABINET– What Keith is drinking now
Mai Tai’s! I am in love with my mai tai recipe and I have become addicted to this semi-tart and totally refreshing cocktail. However, the booze content is well masked by the flavors so this is a dangerous drink.
ST. GEORGE BOTANIVORE: Good golly miss molly does this make the best Gin and Tonic! Wow! So clean, so crisp, so citrus and alive. I am getting thirsty!
Dark and Stormy: My friend is now addicted to my dark and stormy, and so am I! If you have never had one, you should fix that immediately. Drop your plans, pull the car over, pull out all the stops man and let one rip. I mean always drink responsibly, that is my credo, sometimes the wait for a thing is just as good as the thing itself.
Kurosawa Sake: Light, dry, and complex. A perfect change of pace summer drink.
JEVER: The beer that was created for Summers like this! German Pilsner that proves the exception is not the rule. I do not care pilsners but this one is fantastic.
Prairie Bomb has arrived! Only four cases so it should move pretty fast. This beer scored a perfect 100 on Rate Beer.
Six Point brewing is back in full force. Yo Brooklyn, where you at?! Right here on the shelf! I have Resin, Bengali, Sweet Action, Crisp AND 4 beans.
WESTLAND: This is an amazing distillery out of Washington that is making honest to goodness American Single Malt. These whiskeys can go head to toe with their Scottish counterparts and that is quite impressive. We have had the original but now we also have the award winning Peated version and the sherry wood version. I am very excited about their arrival and I happy to know that America can compete in the Single Malt world.
RECIPE OF THE WEEK: CAIPIRINHA
If you have never had this, you are really missing out. So simple and so yummy. It is sometimes called the Brazilian Margarita, but this drink is older than the Margarita so I refuse to that name and regret even typing it!
2 oz of Cacacha (Ypioca, 51)
2 teaspoons of sugar
2 sliced up limes.
Drop the limes in the old fashioned glass and sprinkle the sugar on top of them. Muddle the limes until they have bled into the sugar. Add the Cacacha and ice. Stir and serve.
If you make a pitcher of them do it about an hour ahead and let the pitcher sit in the fridge. It all blends together nicely that way.
