Hey there booze fans, we all survived Turkey Day (well most of us anyway) and I almost went into a coma due to the amazing food provided by my great friends.  Now the countdown to Christmas begins.  In the Booze business the early bird definitely gets the worm.  Inventories get low, gift sets sell out, my staff gets weary and starts choosing the shiny bottles.  So pretty so very pretty.  I often times hear people say “I feel bad giving booze”   Now that is a sentiment I just cannot understand.  Booze brings people together.  It sets a mood, it marks an occasion.  Barolo will always be the wine I had on my Italian holiday.  I first fell in love with Champagne when I tried vintage Charles Heidseck.   Scotch and I became the dearest of friends when I tried Laphroaig ten year.

Panthers?  Holy diver!  They are now just crushing people, that team has Super Bowl written all over it.

Last year we had two hundred people show if that amount holds then you have a fifty percent chance of winning!  I wish every lottery had those kind of odds!

RULES: When a name is called the person will come up to the front with a picture id that matches the name called.  John Davis is not Georgia Davis despite being married for 57 years.  Do not come up and tell me a sob story.  You guys requested the photo id rule so here it is.  What this MEANS is, that if you are a proxy you need YOUR name on the ticket.  If you have made an error then you should come today or tomorrow and fix it.

Step 2:  When you get to the front the first person will have one hundred choices, the next 99 and so on till they are all gone or we reach seven o’clock so please be quick.  There will be menus so find a menu and make some choices and back up choices.  Do not agonize!  This drawing is full of awesome whiskey.

TASTINGS:   FRIDAY  3:30-6:30  WYBOROWA WODKA

The boss found this rye based vodka and got you guys a great deal on it.  Instead of spending three times as much on Belvedere try this instead!  The pride of Poland!

Great gifts tasting.  Vodka, Scotch, and Rum.  Give them one, or all three!!  Or just two if you have that kind of obsessive compulsive behavior that makes you always do things equally.  Odd rules you weirdos!

KEITH’S CABINET:  What Keith is drinking now.

Charred Oak Bourbon and Rye:  We have both of these on sale and they are both winners.  I will be buying both of these until our supply is gone.

KEENAN CAB FRANC:  This was the amazing wine I chose for Thanksgiving.  Put down the Silver Oak and taste this mind blowing wine from one of the best wineries in the universe.

Morgan Pinot:  The Morgan family makes great wines, this Pinot is a big fruit bomb that still delivers complexity.

De Lord Armagnac: From top to bottom this line of Armagnac is a winner.  Sipped on some 91 before bed and was in heaven.

Merry’s White Chocolate:  Forget Godiva, this stuff is half the price and twice as good.  Put it in your coffee, use it in your white Russians.  Doesn’t matter.

NEW ARRIVALS:

Things often slow down this time of year but trust me I am always working on getting a ton of new stuff in.  But we have a few happy returns.

GLENDRONACH TAWNY PORT:  When this hits the shelf it goes.  I would grab one of these for Christmas now.

Hibiki Harmony:  Have not seen this in a while but here it is again.  An extremely smooth and easy introduction to the world of Japanese Whiskey.

LAPHROAIG TRIPLE WOOD:  Does the Scotch lover in your family like peat?  Well get them this!  It is awesome.

Recipe of the week

One of my all time favorite from master bartender Dale De Groff.

1 1/2 ounces añejo rum Brugal, Ron Medellin 8
1/2 ounce orange liqueur  Pierre Ferrand Dry Curucao, Bauchant, Triple Sec
2 ounces Ginger Beer Fever Tree, Q
2 dashes of Jack Rudy bitters
Build in Pint glass, garnish with lime and or Orange
