They are very happy with the status quo, but we are not!   Many of you are like me and want to try as many awesome things as you can before your liver waves the white flag and says “club soda for you, bucko”.   But for now, in this moment, it is our privilege as hard working Americans to be able to taste the best rum in the world, and the fifth best tequila!  Arbitrary obstacles created by worthless bureaucrats should not be controlling our drinking habits.  While the Sistine Chapel must remain in Roma, DeLord Armagnac should be able to be enjoyed right here in the Carolinas!”

TASTINGS

FRIDAY 4:00pm-6:00pm  WINE TASTING

Honig Savingnon Blanc:  These guys make good wine, year in and year out.  Crisp and clean, sustainably farmed, and made in stainless steal keeping it light and lean, but with plenty of fruit to be found.
Annibals Provence Rose’:  Provence is typically where you would like your Rose’ to be from.  The Varois region is protected by the mountains keeping the climate a little cooler.  This wine is mostly Cinsault which is an underrated grape that is lighter than the typical Syrah or Grenache Rose’.

Villa Antinori Toscana:  Duh duh duh Super Tuscan!!  During the 1970’s Italy had a war within its own wine community.  Many young winemakers were challenging the old rules, and wanting to plant new grapes and make exciting blends.  This gave birth to the IGT and Super Tuscan designations.  These remain some of the most fun wines in Italy.

CrossBarn Paul Hobbs Cabernet:  One of the “Rockstars” of the wine industry.  Paul has become famous for his ability to spot great vineyards and make excellent wine all over the world.  This wine was aged in mostly used oak.  Why?  So it can be enjoyed sooner rather than later.  New oak takes longer to integrate with the wine, and can be overpowering when the wine is young.  In order to make a more fruit forward wine Paul has utilized older barrels but still uses some new oak to give it that backbone that good Cabernet needs.

Vizcaya;  This gets mixed with nothing, it is just pure pleasure.  I was lucky enough to get more in, but be quick last weekend we blew right through it.  This stuff is worth all of the hype and then some.  I could not be happier with this bottle.\

El Ocho Tequila: I tried the Anejo and it is excellent!  Another wonderful edition to the best Tequila section in the Carolina’s!

Keenan Cabernet:  Whenever you see the big red K it is always great wine.  Not nearly as famous as it should be, but it always delivers!
