Tastings
FRIDAY: JUNE 4TH 3:30-6:30 Southern Comfort
I know I know, you do not have to say a word, I get it, and I am sorry. You could cut off all my hair but I already did that yesterday, now if you can stick with me for another paragraph there is good news!
SATURDAY: 12:00-3:00 VAN GOGH!
The best flavored vodka out there is here. Apple (my favorite of their flavors) Peach (a great summer vodka) and the Double Espresso for when you want caffeine and booze at the same time! Makes a fantastic espresso martini.
SATURDAY 3:30-6:30 BLUE CHAIR RUM!
KENNY CHESNEY is coming to town (for a concert and he is bringing his rum with him. He has two new flavors, banana cream and vanilla. We will be pouring these PLUS!!! We are having a raffle for two tickets to his show! Sign up while you taste, or before, or after, or on Friday. The winner will be drawn Tuesday.
NEW ARRIVALS
JEFFERSONS GROTH AGED: This is 6 year old Jefferson, aged an extra nine months in Groth Cabernet barrels. Every wine finished whiskey I have had has been good to great, so why not this one? No one is resting on their laurels at Jefferson’s that is for sure. They have a rum one coming out next. I only got twelve bottles so this one will probably move fast.
WILD TURKEY DIAMOND: This is a super ultra premium select reserve special edition of Wild Turkey. Jimmy Russel has been in the Bourbon business for 60 years and this is his celebratory bottle created by his son Eddy who has been in the business for 34 years. By all accounts it is a Wild Turkey lovers dream and the finest whiskey they have ever made.
LOW GAP RYE: The fine folks at Germain-Robin must be tired from conquering the world of Brandy because they have put out another small whiskey. This time it is a rye. Aged in both Van Winkle Barrels and their own brandy barrels, it should be pretty interesting stuff. Once again very limited quantity. Only 6 bottles of it!
CENTINELA TEQUILA: This is another well made tequila. But Keith I already love Casa Noble, Don Julio, or Blue Head! Well just like Single Malt Scotches or tasty Cabernets, each Tequila has its own little niche. Where as, Don Julio focuses on balance, Siete Leguas focuses on smoothness. I find the Centinela to be spicy and engaging, with its own unique taste. A quality sipping tequila.
Herencia Anejo: We all love the blanco, many of you have asked for the Anejo, and I have heard your demands and delivered! A truly unique Anejo, neither heavy nor light, it is long and leaves quite a tasty aftertaste. Truly an original.
HERENCIA REPOSADO: I feel like Reposado does not get the respect it deserves. It is not clean and light like the blanco, but it is not mellow like an Anejo. However, it is Alive! When made well it is young and vibrant and challenges the drinker.
OLD RAJ: Finally! How can you have a liquor store without the most respected gin in the world! It comes in two strengths, 46% abv and 55%. This gin is famous for being Saffron infused. Saffron is one of the most expensive spices in the world which is one reason why this gin is both straw colored and not so cheap. It makes an exception Martini and drinks straight very well. I think the saffron gets lost once mixed with tonic.
SPRINGBANK 12 GREEN: Another super limited batch of Springbank. I love this distillery. I would eat Springbank the breakfast cereal and wear Springbank Polo shirts, and and other stuff! Only 9,000 btls of this were made using organic barley.
SPRING BANK 12 CASK STRENGTH: This is a sherry cask aged beauty that is also quite limited. You guys need to get on board the Springbank express because this is an old school distillery that not only does things the right way but is constantly experimenting and making awesome new whiskys. I am always shocked when I hear that someone has never tried Springbank before.
KEITH’S CABINET: What Keith is drinking now
Herencia Blanco: I love this tequila, it is smooth but has a lot of character.
Dark and Stormy’s: I cannot get enough of the dark and stormy with the Blenheim Ginger Ale.
Gin and Tonics with Elderflower: The Bertina elderflower is back and it is soooooo much better than St. Germains.
Giffard Ginger: I have been putting it in my rum and my bourbon with great results so far.
JEVER PILSNER: So clean and crisp. When a Gin and Tonic is not handy, I can grab a Jever.
Mexican Cake at 7pm! Friday Let them drink cake!!!! If you do not know what it is then do not worry about it, but if you do then I will assume you will be here and having a glass with Summer and I.
