Memorial Day Liquor News!
Hey there booze fans, wow has it been hot and humid out there. The upside it makes my gin taste even better! The downside, getting into the car after work!! It is like my very own sauna. Another busy week here at Southern Spirits as we get ready for Memorial day and speed week? Race week? Speed street? Something involving cars moving in circles quickly. I would like to welcome all of you newcomers to the store and the newsletter. Thank you for telling all of your friends about the best store in the Carolina’s. There is no better advertisement then word of mouth and I am overwhelmed by all of the new customers you guys send our way!
TASTINGS:
FRIDAY 3:30-6:30 CHATANOOGA BOURBON
Some of you have already tried this or heard me mention it, but I am a big fan of these two whiskeys. One is the regular, and it is quite tasty, but the other is the cask strength and it is delicious. Just a splash of club soda, water, three cubes etc and you will be enjoying some very well made whiskey. The cork top looks cool but is a bit annoying, because the first time you open it, you really need a wine opener, after that you are good. I am happy to pouring these two excellent whiskeys instead of some kind of flavored nonsense.
SATURDAY 12-3 GLEN MORAY SCOTCH
Ever wonder if there is an affordable single malt that is worth trying? Come on by Saturday and find out. We are pouring three expressions of this Scotch including their latest Port cask finish. Maybe this will become your new Tuesday night whiskey?
KEITH’S CABINET: What Keith is drinking now.
Haymans Sloe Gin: Yes I am still enjoying the Sloe Gin Fizz, because it is awesome!
Deep Eddy Grapefruit: It is just such an awesome afterwork beverage. Plus I have been putting it in my smoothies!
Blue Coat Gin, Greenbrier Gin, and Citadelle. Right now I am rotating through these three quite happily! Oh and Fords. I love gin!!
Jever: The only Pilsner I truly love. This is just happy summertime refreshment.
Westland: The Seattle Scotch! I am truly enjoying this bottle.
SELVAREY RUM: This is a higher end mixing rum that will make a fantastic daiquiri, mojito, or any other clear rum drink. It is Bruno Mars rum, and that is why there is a gorilla on the package. Bruno likes Gorillas. Watch out for Bruno’s next single “Rum makes me want to run away and be a Gorilla!” ALSO, it comes in chocolate. The chocolate is very well done and would make a fun substitute in a chocolate martini.
SPRINGBANK 17 SHERRYWOOD: The reviews on this are very impressive. This is not a surprise since I love everything that Springbank makes! If you have never had the ten year I recommend grabbing one ASAP, or the 15, or the Kilkerran, or the Hazelburn. All of those are from Springbank and they are all excellent. Only 9100 bottles made!!
SIPP: These are awesome organic mixers, that can be combined with a variety of different spirits to make simple, refreshing cocktails.
DON EDUARDO: A very well made tequila from my past. When I was getting started in the booze business I really enjoyed this series. Since then they have actually lowered their price and turned into a well made and competitive tequila. I like everything about this tequila except for the silly cap! It has this vacuum and you have to be careful when removing it or you will spill it.
BLUE CHAIR BAY BANANA CREAM: Kenney Chesney is about to come to town and we will be having a tasting to celebrate his appearance and to help launch this new flavor.
BEER NEWS: FRIDAY MAY 22ND GREEN MAN TAP TAKEOVER!
4:00-6:00 Four different taps, plus super special bombers! Do not miss it!
Mexican cake will have a release party you will be emailed all the details as soon as we are ready!!
